Investment Fund Acquires North American Port Assets

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan’s (OTPP) deal of $2.35 billion for four container terminals led North American financing deals for port asset acquisitions in 2007.  PB provided strategic and technical advisory services to OTPP for these investments, which were driven by the projected growth in port traffic volumes of 8-10% per year over the next 20 years. The sliding scale pricing was the first of its kind in the region and has served as a model on future deals. This deal was recipient of Project Finance magazine’s 2007 North American Acquisition Deal of the Year.
